Aysen district is remote, diverse, and stunningly beautiful. Find the best of Patagonia with glaciers, mountains, rivers and rainforest,

Tour Description

Enjoy a brief, exceptionally scenic drive from the port to a newly-created park set on an Andean lake.

Walk along three different paved trails within the park, with informative signage covering the various habitats you’re viewing.

Catch breathtaking vistas of the lakes, rivers and mountains that define the Patagonian landscape.

Delve deep into the woods to visit the Old Man’s Beard waterfall and enjoy a delicious barbeque lunch served at a rustic open-air pavilion.

Head into Chile’s wild Aysén district for an in-depth experience of a truly glorious landscape. This wet, windy Patagonian region is both extremely sparse in population and extremely rich in spectacular scenery. You’ll be in the thick of it after just a 15-minute drive from the pier as you enter Aikén del Sur Private Park. Here, the calm blue waters of Riesco Lake, a 72-foot waterfall and indigenous forests and fauna form the heart of an unspoiled oasis. An informative visitor center and tutorial stations along the park’s nature trails provide fascinating bio-geographical history on the region as you explore this natural showplace. The paved trails each feature a wealth of impressive sights and places to rest. Strategically placed viewing platforms provide stunning vantage points on the surrounding mountains, while the calls of native birds provide the soundtrack to this thrilling nature documentary. Walk the River Trail just over a mile into humid terrain and Old Man’s Beard waterfall and return via a different trail. Having worked up an appetite by now, relax over a typical Patagonian barbeque lunch and rest break at the park’s quincho pavilion before the return drive to the pier.
