9/12/2019 Part 2 Dinner Ley Arms and Old Church

For an additional charge, we went to dinner in this old pub with a thatched roof located in the middle of nowhere. The fish and chips were excellent and the staff was a lot of fun.

The church is one of a few that survived the Reformation, maybe because it was so small and out of the way.  Almost everything is original.  The pub is older than the church. The workers would build the pub first so they had somewhere to stay while they built the church.

Original artwork on the panels.
An original font.

This cross was used to mark the graves of soldiers during the WW.  Very few remain as they were thrown away when the soldiers were reinterred.
