Richmond was our lunch break location. There was not enough time to go in for a castle tour so I walked around the exterior walls. Good defensive position, high walls, steep bank, and a river below. Nice old town being well maintained. I used all my time walking around the town, then grabbed a sandwich in a convenient market and ate on the bus.
Castle walls have been improved over time as indicated with the different stones.
